Hereford Chamber Choir and the Central England Camerata Orchestra, directed by Simon Harper, open the annual Friends of Hereford Cathedral Festival weekend with a programme of 20th Century English music including Elgar's The Banner of St. George, Vaughan Williams' An Oxford Elegy and Five Mystical Songs, Howells' A Hymn for St. Cecilia, and Holst's Hymns from the Rig Veda. The concert will also feature poems by Ursula Vaughan Williams, presented by students of Hereford Cathedral School.
The concert will take place at 7.30 pm on Friday 11 June in Hereford Cathedral, as part of the Friends of Hereford Cathedral festival weekend and events celebrating the 700th anniversary of the canonisation of St. Thomas Cantilupe.
Tickets £16 in advance, £18 on the door; students £8 in advance, £10 on the door; £14 Friends of Hereford Chamber Choir.
